What happened in the past four months?

In these past four months, I can easily say that I have seen so many new things and learned so much.

In a quick recap, I broke up with a previous boyfriend for the one I am currently with, my band won grand champion for the first time in a long while, we went on to semifinals, I made a HUGE mistake, I started writing a fan-fiction, my band went to Bands of America Grand Nationals, and I suffered major heart break!

On the notes of my love life, I will be addressing them in another post at a later time. :P

~*~*~*~

I've decided that since I haven't been as faithful to this blog as I should've been, I'm going to TRY to post weekly updates on my life. Daily updates are way too stressful and monthly updates would be too long.

In the past week, I went through to the second round of All State auditions (which is CRAZY for a sophomore to even DREAM about.), I auditioned for our school's winter guard and made it ;D, and then I also auditioned for the All Festival band and made that~

This year I've really pushed myself to the point of panic attacks and high levels of stress and anxiety. To say that all of this stress has been pointless would be correct, but, as my past guard instructor always said, "If you don't feel stressed or nervous, you don't care enough about it." Her words used to be cryptic and vague, but now I see exactly what she meant.

(To Cynthia: I love and thank you for pushing me to do something I never knew I'd love.)

I'm in debt to all the people around me for pushing me as hard as they do. I'd be nowhere without them.

Wow, I really just collapsed the past four months and a week, #goteam!

xoxo <3

Band Season is upon us!

Hello lovelies, I hope you've been doing great in my absence!

Marching band season is upon us and I've never been this excited since my first season in 2011! It must have something to do with me being drum major this season instead of being in colorguard. Being a drum major is something I've always dreamed of doing and now I actually get to live out my dream until I graduate high school!

People always say that marching band kids are weird, but honestly, not all of us are. In my band, we've got football players and cheerleaders and basketball players and that's not something most bands have. Some of the aforementioned people are weird, but they're still pretty cool.

In band (for those that don't know) you've got 4 big parts to your band. You've got the percussion, your colorguard, your winds, and you've got your drum major(s). The biggest section in my band is the guard with 18 members. The percussion is next to the guard with 15-ish members (this includes the pit and the battery). Then there's winds (I'm thinking in their individual instruments, not as a whole) with maybe 3-6 people per section. Then there's the drum majors, and there are only two of us (head drum major swag holla!). Our band is a decent size with usually +/-70 kids.

People say that being a drum major is hard work because you've got to get people to listen to you and you've got to be the boss, which isn't entirely true. Yeah you've got to have people listen to you and yeah you have to tell people when they're wrong but you don't have to make it hard. My band listens to me and respects me because that's how I treat them. My momma always says that "to get respect, you've got to give respect," and that's been my motto since I've been drum major.

[i left this blog post unpublished and came back on August 2nd to continue]

So our band camp just ended, and honestly this was so stressful. Not only was my band uncooperative, they were immature and caused a lot of drama. Even though the end of camp performance was sucessful, the behind the scenes was awful.

My co-drum major wouldn't agree with anything I said, and didn't be the leader he is supposed to be. He also didn't enforce anything on anyone, making me have to seem like the bad guy (which I'm not). He smoked in front of our students at our fair, which is completely wrong. We are the role models for this band and we don't need to bring our bad habits to their eyes. He didn't try to help anyone when they needed help and didn't do the job that is specifically for the drum major(s) in our band.

The members wouldn't listen, they wouldn't work hard, and they made me lose almost all of the pride I have in our program. In my audition for drum major, I spoke of how proud I was of the band and how much faith I had in this show and in our members. Meeting all of the new members and seeing the attitude in the veteran members made me realize that this season might not turn out to what I'd hoped.

I'm still excited for this upcoming season, but I'm not too sure how well we will do based on camp.

xoxo

YouTube Gamers = Life

So Friday June 27, 2014 at roughly 2:15 pm, my favorite series on my favorite channel ended. In it's running time, there were roughly 126 episodes with specials littered throughout.

Treetopia was (and will remain) my favorite Minecraft series because it was one of the few places I could watch all of my favorite gamers in one spot. Although it had to come to an end, I know it was within good reason. In watching the montage of the entire series, I became even sadder.

I sat down and watched Treetopia in about a week (at the time, 80-ish episodes with two specials) and in that time, I became attached. I sat and laughed each time Kootra died at James' hand, and I laughed when Seamus' house was the last one standing. I'll miss this series, but I can always just rewatch it. ;)

If you've never watched thecreaturehub on YouTube, you are so missing out. They're all hilarious and they're total sweethearts.

SSOHPKC is my favorite creature. :)
Uberhaxornova is my favorite creature, too. :)

I hope your day is as lovely (if not lovelier) as you are!!

Reason I'm Going Blind #123189472381987

Hi guys, how has your day been? :)

For those of you that don't know, (which is almost all of you) I'm a gamer with PC as the choice of platform. Usually I play MineCraft because I like being able to pick on the villagers. >:3

Today was not one of those days, however.

"Woah! Those floating pictures in the servers are super awesome! I'm going to try that!" I said to myself, not realizing how hard/strenuous it actually is.

For those of you that don't know, those floating pictures are called pixel art. It looks super simple if your eyes are good and can count quickly, but for those of us that can't it's super freaking hard! My eyes are already terrible (I'm legally blind without my glasses on) but I'm sure that focusing on a small square and counting said squares is making them even worse.

The first pixel art I ever did was one of Eren Yeager (one of the main characters in the anime Attack on Titan) and I didn't really have a good template for it so I was straining my eyes even more. Most templates you use have lines drawn so it's easier to count squares this one, however, did not.

The picture I'd chose to recreate on my world was an pixel drawing with no easy way to count pixels. It took me about three hours before I was done and I never wanted to do it again (totally did it again). My back was hurting and my eyes felt dry and I wanted to scream.

The end result was pretty awesome, I'm not gonna lie. Had the process getting to that result been easier, I would've been soooo much happier, but it looked good and that's all that matters right?

Pretty good, huh? :)

Well hello!

My name is Annie and I am 15 years old. You may be asking, "Why did a 15-year-old start a blog about her life?" and that's a good question.

I decided to make this blog for myself to post day-to-day life with all of its ups and downs. I like to think of it as a creative outlet for myself, and maybe even the others that read this blog in the future. This blog will be the place that I come to share my experiences, thoughts, writings, and anything else I decide to come up with.

If you end up enjoying the things I post, I'd love for you to comment! (Click where it has the amount of comments and a pop-up box for the comment will show up!)

I hope you all have a day that is as lovely as you are!
